Margaret Dunn Day

The English Department at Southern Connecticut State University wants to honor Margaret Dunn for her excellent work involving the Elizabethan Club at Yale. Margaret has been a part-time professor at SCSU since 1993. She teaches composition (English 112) and for 12 years she taught English 505, Applied English Linguistics.


The Elizabethan Club is a social club, mostly for members of the Yale Community. Margaret has been a member of this organization since she was a Yale graduate student in 1986. From 1997 to 2019, she was the chair of the Entertainment Committee and part of the club’s Outreach Committee as well. 


Margaret was awarded with The Elizabethan Medal for Distinguished Services and the Governor of Connecticut, Ned Lamont, made Friday, October 11th, 2019 Margaret Dunn Day in the state of Connecticut as a way of honoring her and all of her hard work in the club. Below are pictures of the certificate and the medal she was awarded!
